  To clarify, London has two local forces—the Metropolitan (Met) Police and the City of London Police—plus the national &nbsp;British Transport Police (BTP) operating in the region. The Met is not the largest force in Europe as stated, but it is the largest territorial, regional, and local police force (department) in Europe. The individual national police forces and gendarmeries (Military Police) of France, Italy, and Spain are all vastly larger than the Met Police.
