  I still use my 63 KI Signature and love it. Use it with my old Audiolab 8000a I bought at the same time or with a Sugden A21 through Harbeth P3ESRs. It just sounds so good, I don’t think I’d ever replace it!

  David, I just want to say "thanks". Why? Because seeing this copper coloured KI DP reminded me of all of the fantastic work you did for Hifi World. It prompted me to get my copies out of the garden shed and rediscover all of the brilliant articles you did - especially on vinyl. You introduced me to models like the SP10 and TTS-8000 that I never knew existed, and was lucky to find on ebay years later. Your work was superb and your passion and journalism second to none. Can't we get a time machine and do it all over again??? Keep up this fantastic channel, obviously I'm preferring the classic stuff vs. the latest mini rega amp!

  David, you're not the only person to have a piece of equipment made for them. Back in the day, I was into doing live on-location classical music recordings using various Schoeps, AKG and Neumann microphones. The late Mike Skeet built a microphone mixer for me. Very home-made looking but sounded excellent. I was using DAT machines back then but his little mixer was definitely up to the job.

  Brilliant riff. Great story and exquisite CD Player. I could only afford the CD 40 back in those days but I still enjoyed it. David, you’re a very lucky guy.

  I have one of the 2nd batch ones, it was a bit of a stretch financially but I emailed David and asked if it was really worth it and he replied nicely and in a very positive way. &nbsp;I then by chance had the opportunity to compare my standard 63 KIS with a DP version at a friend&apos;s house.<br><br>The comparison was very interesting - in traditional HiFi terms such as clarity, bass slam etc. they sounded virtually identical but the orchestral piece we used sounded like a decent rehearsal with the standard player and an enthusiastic performance with the DP version.<br><br>A second track using female vocal gave a similar improvement in emotional terms.<br><br>I have never regretted the upgrade!

  I still have a CD 63 MkII KI DP. I bought it from the Hi Fi World offer. It the standard CD player in my system, I also have a Magnetar UDP-900 for any SACDS/BDs, and a Shanling ET-Zero tube portable CD player. The Marantz is an excellent player, no need to change it I feel, and for me I have not had a laser failure yet. I remember travelling across the country to buy the donor CD63 KI MkII (eBay) to then send in for the upgrade. It was nice to see this video made about it. Thank you.

  Hi guys, had the mark 2 63 KI with all the Uk mods and copper base etc. Had it for years without fault, sold it on a couple of years ago complete with KI certifications. Smooth and dynamic as I recall. Cheers Guys.
