  I love the fact that you included basically the whole canonical ALIEN worlds. There’s some exceptions though. You included the comic books, movies and put your touch on it. Thanks. This was good.

  How can David be the pinnacle of androids if he is one of the earlier models from a prequel movie? Even the science officer from the original Alien should be far more advanced than an older model like David.

  David the best Character imo, but Walter is the most interesting to me. He was made to be more mundane and less "human", but he seems to have his own thoughts and emotions also.. just more in the ere of good.

  There's an excellent book by T.R Napper, titled "Aliens:Bishop", that explains that Bishop truly is self-aware and does not follow his programming, the short story about him from the Alien book 'Bug Hunt' titled "Broken" does as well. On the same note, Ridley Scott and Fassbender have both said that David is also a free thinking being, and of course Call from Alien Resurrection is free from her programming too. The new movie Alien Romulus strongly suggests that Andy is also free thinking. Hopefully the upcoming tv series goes more into depth about this, it's going to focus on synthetics and it's produced by Ridley Scott who wanted to explore synthetics in the sequel the Alien:Covenant that we never got.

  The answer is a combination of machines and humans, programmable machines inside a human shape(humanoid) with minor or no free will and self-determination. The androids or Synthetics are, in short, unprecedentedly advanced AI techs that interact with humans side by side, doing everything hazardous and horrifically close to humans.

  Machines can never truly be alive regardless of the complex systems they possess. No non-organic form is alive.
