Dealing 1 damage is pinging
Dealing 3 damage is bolting
and at least to me, dealing 2 damage is shocking!
Probably just originating from the card "Shock", also where the Shock Lands get their nickname I believe

0:50 Tiny nitpick– the original usage of "sinistra" to mean "left" precedes is usage to mean "bad" or "evil". The way you phrased it seemed to imply that they started using "sinistra" for left-handed people because they thought they were bad. When in reality, they used the term "sinistra" to mean "left" because that was their word for "left." It wasn't until later, due to societal stigma of left-handed people at the time, that the term became synonymous with "bad" or "evil"– to that point that we no longer understand "sinister" to mean "left" today.

My favorite way to slightly draw aggro at a commander pod is to exclusively use yugioh terminology to refer to whats happening in the game.

Fascinatingly, popular slang like "pitching," "wrath," "looting," "tutor," "wheel," and "mill" has seeped into other card games. I've played with so many pokemon, cardfight Vanguard, Riftbound, lorcana, and one piece players who regularly use those terms despite that slang never being printed on a card.

I love how one can say "bolt the bird" meaning targeting a Llanowar elf with a Fatal push and it still makes sence lol! New players might ask, where's the bolt? Where's the bird? Heck, Fatal push isn't even the same color as Lightning bolt! Yet, we often use iconic card names to refer to their effects, even though they might not be completely the same as the card we're actually talking about. I hope that made sence! Remember, always bolt the bird!!!
P.S.: bolt refers to the card "Lightning bolt" and bird refers to the card "Birds of Paradise"

I have always been an advocate for keywords and the good they do games like Magic. Coming from a Yugioh background, a game with almost no keywords and a community that largely dislikes the concept of them, the stark contrast with how much easier Magic was to get into and learn the mechanics of was astonishing. After all, once I learn what a keyword does and means, I can apply that to every other card with that keyword rather than reading the whole card to understand it.

To this list of slang-terms, I'd like to add one that you mentioned, but didn't elaborate on: Evasion. Evasion means any way, that a creature avoids being blocked or nullifies the benefits of a block to a defender. Stuff like flying, menace, shadow, intimidate and making creature unblockable outright are the classic forms of evasion, where they limit how the creature can be blocked. Among types of evasion, people also lump trample, because while it does not prohibit the ability to block the creature, it does greatly decrease the effectiveness of blocking.

I wanted to specifically name this, because I imagine there could be people that see this video and do not know what evasion specifically encompasses. Having played with a variety of new players, I never underestimate the importance of absolute clarity. I don't mean this as a sleight against your video though, it's a good video. Just that I can also imagine stuff like this just slips the mind when you're deep enough in the scene.

Illustrating the ideas via markers is absolutely the coorect way to explain this in an interesting manner. I would not have watched to the end of it was just you talking to us. Good.
