The Brigadier and Frankel without doubt the best milers ever!

I remember at one stage his connections were considering running the Brigadier in the 6 furlong July Cup at Newmarket. He was that versatile in distance.

An all time great who was campaigned at all distances and all goings ducking no one. If Nijinsky had stayed in training and Mill Reef not badly injured we could have had Brigadier Gerard and the other two in one race!

The Brigadier won from 6 f to 12 f on grounds from firm to soft. He shied away from nothing.
