  The reason why Filipino food is underrated and why a lot of foreigners don’t like Filipino foods, it’s because either they only tried it once or they eat it by itself. When foreigner eat the Filipino food for the first time, right away they will say it’s not for them because for them it’s too salty, too sour, too sweet, too bland, too spicy, too oily, too dry, too bitter, etc and the reason why they said that it’s because they eat it by itself. Of course they are not going to like it because mostly Filipino foods meant to be eaten with rice. The purpose of rice is to neutralize the saltiness, the sourness, the sweetness, blandness, spiciness of the food. Also they should added with soy sauce mixed with Filipino citrus fruit called Calamansi or with fish sauce or with vinegar or with sugar or even with shrimp paste. When you do that, that’s when you will enjoy and appreciate the true taste of Filipino foods.<br><br>Some foreigners still don’t like Filipino food after the first time they tried it and the reason why they don’t like it, maybe because the taste is new to them. Since Filipino foods has different and has unique taste compared to all other Asian foods, they should not be judged it at first try, they should eat it for more times until you get used to the taste of the food and believe me once you get used to the Filipino food, that’s when you will start craving for them. <br><br>I have European brother in law, when my sister cooking Filipino foods for their daily meals, my brother in law hates it right away and complaining, it’s too much for his taste but when my sister start teaching him how to eat every Filipino food she cooks and continuously eating them for numerous times and guess what after my brother in law got used eating Filipino food, he got addicted and cannot eat meal anymore without rice. To tell you the truth, my brother in law actually working as a Chef in Hilton hotel. He is actually the one who told me all the reason that I have been telling you here why Filipino foods is underrated. He said he tried different kind of foods all over the world, including mostly Asian foods but Filipino foods are the one that he got addicted eating and kept on craving for more. <br><br>So to all foreigners out there to appreciate and enjoy Filipino foods, before eating them ask any Filipino what is the proper way how to eat each of every Filipino foods. As I said earlier once you give it a try eating it for numerous times, that’s when you start craving for it. Why? Because you learned how to eat them and become familiar with the taste and eventually you get addicted to it. Of course Filipino foods are not for everyone but the good thing is more and more foreigners start appreciating Filipino foods because they start learning how to eat them.
