  Curious about this formula, 95 - (GIR × 2) = your score? 👇<br><br>I did some digging and it’s called Riccio’s Rule based on it’s author, Dr. Lucius Riccio, a Columbia University professor who first presented it at the 1990 World Scientific Congress of Golf.<br><br>Its predictive accuracy is approximately equal to plus or minus 1 stroke about 90% of the time when averaged over four rounds.

  Thank you for showing how you topped the ball off the tee (like all us do) and play it out without trying to make it up on shot 2 to walk off with a bogey on the stroke index 2 hole. That is probably the best thing I have seen because whenever that happens to me, I feel like the hole is lost from that point. Keep those shots and strategies in your videos! So much better than watching perfect social media golf.

  I played with this mindset today, hit 7 GIR, two putted 17 greens just one three putt and no double bogeys carded an 83 against a par 71 so 12 over par, having a mindset of limiting the damage and setting goals stops you from getting ahead of yourself and becoming emotional, I didn&apos;t care that I didn&apos;t have a single putt green that wasn&apos;t the task or the goal, the 3 putt was the only stroke I left on the table, upping the GIR is the next goal.

  Without knowing this formula (brilliant btw) I played this past weekend. &nbsp;I just grabbed my card and labeled each hole with an E, M, or H...and this is what I scored... E was +1, M was +7, and H was +5 for a 13 over 85. &nbsp;I was a 17 handicap when I played that round. &nbsp;So it does work. &nbsp;Ironically, I shot 11 over 47 on the front with a birdie and 2 over 38 on the back with 7 pars and 2 bogeys. &nbsp;I hit 8 GIR for an expected score of 79=95-(8x2). &nbsp;I had 2 penalty strokes and two 3 putts...I was extremely happy with the 85 considering I shot the 47 on the front side. &nbsp;This will be new way of looking at the holes. &nbsp;Thanks for a great video.

  The bummer of these very well made videos with fantastic strategy is that we are watching really accomplished golfers who have an easy time of it and can easily recover. &nbsp;I would love to see videos like these with a 15-20 HCP. &nbsp;And yes you can invite me to be that guy. &nbsp;LOL

  This Video just night change my attitude to scoring and golf. I shoot under 85, but never under 80. I think I’ll employ some of these strategies to get me into the scoring zone where I usually will put it on the green.

  I think many people remember their good shots (3 wood 190 to green) and forget the slice, the hook, the topped ball with the 3 wood. &nbsp;So instead of my plan for assuming the best, I&apos;ll assume the average and maybe go with 6 iron and 9 iron. &nbsp;Lots to think about here.
