Hi guys! Joe from Sorta Like Golf here! THANKS for the shout out! I am happy to report that I was able to shoot my personal best, an 87, using the method! Also, the video you showed in this video did get better, swing-wise, after my consecutive topped balls as the video went on, LOL. I was so happy that Will reached out and we were able to go through the method in depth in a GREAT conversation video:https://youtu.be/TnYgAu_DYh8 . Thanks again guys, it's a journey!

The hidden genius of the Scoring Method, is the built-in repetitive nature of simple shots building out to more difficult shots and identifying where it is easiest for high handicappers to gain the easiest and largest gains in shot reductions.

First, putting: the recognition that you’re not going to make 25-30 putts, but you can develop the skill to get them into makeable distance for the next putt.

Next, you learn to keep the ball in play, and for most high handicap players, that most likely means using irons from the tee. (A “go to” club) But you’re going to end up mastering that club and then expanding from there. It’s going to keep you out of trouble, which means you don’t lose strokes getting out of trouble.

Then, because you aiming for the scoring zone, you’re going to be learning how to hit “putts with elevation” or pitches and chips. And the more you hit, the better your accuracy will become. This directly impacts the putting stat mentioned above.

It becomes a cycle of improvement in both skill and confidence.

The most difficult thing about this is keeping your ego in check and not expanding before you’ve mastered, repeat mastered, the easier steps.

I used the scoring method for the last four rounds with success. 20 years ago (I’m 60 now) I was a 5 handicap. Life changed and I went away from the game and have now returned to golf. My last four rounds went 98, 94,91, 88. The confidence that’s growing with in me feels fantastic. With some back injuries sustained over time, my swing has changed and I understand my skills will return with my ability to adapt to my body now. The difference now is I’m looking at each hole with different eyes and choosing higher odds shots and my scores are dropping. Thank you for this strategy! I love playing with it! Peace ☮️

Playing off 24 - 67 years old coming back to golf after a break. Had a lower handicap 10 years ago. So, I decided to try the 5 goto clubs method, and the Scoring Method. Also putting on to the green with my 7 wood in place of a hybrid. Much to the amusement of my fellow golfers. However, it has transformed my game, Also, the results of putting onto the green with the 7wood (with a putter grip) were very good in the UK on a cold very windy day. Set myself a target of getting down to 20 , weather pemitting

For me, I watched the newest video on how the scoring method works and I decided to go and take it out on course for a try. I considered going off the red tees since my driver head broke a few weeks ago but ultimately played from the whites with no driver until the 4th when I was leant a driver from the pro shop. And the result was my best 9 ever. I’m a 30 handicapper and usually average the high 50’s and on tough courses, low to mid 60’s. My best before my latest was a 54 a few times at a few courses but I tapped into the scoring method and Lo and behold, on the second hole, a tough par 5, I put an 8 Iron from around scoring range to a foot and put in a birdie. Only went past double twice when I usually do that about 4 or 5 times a 9.

I tried the scoring method. It was amazing. From 92 to 82. Shaved 10 shots! Then tried again: 86. Handicup went from 20.2 to 17.8. Sure, the challenge now it is to keep it. Not easy, but i will keep using the method and get out of my own way. Thank you!

So, my wife is a fairly new player. On the range, she hits her Driver 160+...fairway woods straight off the deck, with decent distance and small dispersion and 7-iron 100+ in the air. When we get on the course, it all goes away; blow up holes and frustration from not improving over a few years. I'm going to gift her a membership to the scoring method. I've watched enough of these videos to be a believer in this method.

So here's the story. The course I play I would like to say I avg 49 on the front and 52-53 on back which has a creek that runs through it a few times and I would have 3-4 lost balls (as high as 6). I can have good holes but my bad holes are really bad. On Tuesday this week I found Will's video with Jerome Rufin, and then your video with Will and your friend Scott. So on league day the next day, I was like OK I will set MY par one up and try to get inside 100 yards. Said I wouldn't pull driver out at all. Well, I get to the course and what do I do? I tried driver 1st tee and grounded it 100 yds. Try a breakfast ball and pulled it left into the driving range. I go to my first ball at 206 out and use my newish PG 357 that I can hit straight pretty consistently 180 and put it 10 yds in the front of the green. 3 in for bogey. Great! Well, don't I get stupid and hit driver off the second tee (par 5). A wicked slice behind the trees. Lesson learned so I put it back in play and calmly advanced it down to the green and took my double bogey. From there on out, driver stayed in the bag. But something else happened. Knowing I was allowed an extra stroke and not chasing down wayward balls, the tension was gone. My swings were slower and smoother, and I was having a blast. I did get 4 doubles in the 18 holes, but 3 pars to balance that and ended up shooting 46 front and 44 back for 90 on a par 71 course. I shaved about 11 strokes off of 18 holes the day after watching 2 videos. Amazing! Thank you guys. It really does work.
