Greetings from a Greek to my DNA brothers in south Italy. Well, and greetings to the rest of my Italian friends too!

My family is from Naples and Sicily. But, it’s funny, as a very young girl, I was drawn to read every library book of Greek Mythology and later the classics and studied the Greek Classics in college, Greek philosophy in graduate school. I couldn’t speak the Italian my family did, but picked up Greek from the family I babysat for, as well as their dancing, food, lots of customs. <br>It’s just amazing how much, as an Italian American, I’ve always loved the Greek people and their culture. I wish all of our wonderful Greek friends well!

We have Greek names in my family also. It makes sense to have Greek names. There's a story I grew up hearing. Three brothers from Greece founded a community. The elder brother said I will rule here but my brothers you need to find your own land. The 2 brothers set out west . They landed next in Italy. One brother stayed to rule in Italy and the younger brother stayed heading west to meet the ocean. The younger brother claimed what we know as Spain. <br>Granted it's a story but it just says we are related. Brothers and sisters. It's obvious Southern European people are basically the same people.

With Denisovan bones in Russia being aged 300,000 years old I find it very unlikely that Italy was empty of humanoid life until 45,000 years old ..... The gap is too large !
