The two female judges at the end of the movie are actually Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Mums

When they were casting the movie they were like, "we need somebody good to play the evil grocer. Somebody with gravitas like Timothy Dalton...why don't we ask him? Oh, he'll never say yes..."

If the Oscars took comedy seriously this movie should absolutely have been nominated.

This screenplay is magnificent.

Timothy Dalton's creepy taunting cracks me up every time. He's so great in this movie.

Fun fact : Angel's ex-girlfriend and the Santa who stabbed his hand were played by Cate Blanchett and Peter Jackson 😂

My ex forced me to watch this at gunpoint. I was reluctant and completely love it. For the greater good!

This movie is endlessly re-watchable. So much detail and funny things to notice each time you watch it. Great script too. The movie was filmed in a few months but took about 18 months to write. The part of Nick Frost was originally supposed to be a love interest of Simon's but they changed it to a man but hilariously left most of the romantic stuff in, making it a bromance.

I super loved when Dolores "Nothing Like a Little Girl on Girl" and then laughs

There are so many great little subtle jokes, like George Merchant being referred to as the "fridge magnate". It's one you can rewatch fifty times and spot new things in each time.

Dude working on this script: how do we subvert the audience's expectations about subverting the audience's expectations, while also subverting the audience's expectations?

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost: Hold my beer

"You can't just make people disappear!"

"Yes, I can. I'm the chief inspector."

As usual, Edgar Wright tells us the ending right at the beginning.
