I have the exact same faucet the tube neck tube "o" ring or gasket leaks at the base.Couldnt get the tapered part off so I changed the faucet. Still have this old faucet. as it worked great for many years and Im still going to fix itsomeday glad I seen Steves video here..

Those old Delta faucets are simple to repair - kept ours going for ~40 years - she finally just rotted out on one of the bolts that held it down - broke off at the under-faucet attachment point, so finally had to get a new one. Went with the same model (~$140) - had to “give it to ‘er” under the sink w/ a socket to break it free. Bathroom faucets (Price Pfister) are simple too - replaced either the seat washers or the o-ring within the stem - they are still going strong. I’ve used some loctite (blue) on the screws to keep the handles tight.
