I’ve watched many videos explaining how to solder pipe. Hands down this is the best. I have a deep respect for those who practice this art for their livelihood. Slow and clear presentation. Wish it had one more tip on how to repair a leaking joint if even possible. Many thanks for sharing this.

I was taught by my teacher that you can tell when the fitting is hot enough by watching the flame and when hot enough you will see the flame turn green as it passes around the fitting. Thanks so much for the great video !!!

In the same video they say to wipe with a damp cloth immediately after soldering and also tell you to not disturb the joint for 30-60 seconds.

I'll test-scratch the solder on the other side of the flame to see how hot the fittings are: once it starts to melt, I start swiping the solder :)

I sil Foss really nicely when doing HVAC. For some reason I use too much solder when sweating copper. At least I didn't whimp out and use shark bite which eventually leaks when the O-ring dries out.
