  I had played Midway one weekend with a friend and came home raving about it. &nbsp;The next week my dad came home one evening and had bought it for me, creating one of the most significant positive memories of my relationship with my dad.

  Great list! Only one I&apos;ve never played is Up Front. I&apos;m 64 now, and I&apos;m grateful that I grew up during this era. Wargames were an important foundation of my education. Terrific way to learn -- and experience -- history. As a bonus, mastering the rules and the bookkeeping really disciplined your intellect. I&apos;ll never forget how proud I was when I made it through Squad Leader&apos;s final scenario. If you could figure out Squad Leader or Third Reich, no college material would intimidate you. 🙂

  Super memories. We had an Avalon Hill Club in my High School. Many sleepless weekends. Seriously, 36 hours straight.

  Starship Troopers was my first game around 1978. My uncle sent it to me along with the novel. At around 11 years old, I loved the sci-fi, the fake historical documents in the rulebook, and the programmed instruction (which I hate as an adult) started this hobby for me.

  I remember combining several copies of panzerrblitz and panzer leader when we were teenagers In &nbsp;the 70s.We setup on our ping pong table and played all weekend one summer when the folks let me stay home while they were on vacation. &nbsp;So much fun!

  The very first AH game I ever played was Russian Campaign back in 1999-2000. I remember seeing it down in the basement and I thought it looked cool just from the box art and I brought it up to show my dad. He thought I was too young to understand the rules at the time (I was 9-10) but I insisted so we set it up and though I got my butt kicked (even with my dad going easy on me) that was what got me hooked to these games. Russian Campaign, Afrika Korps, Blitzkrieg, Squad Leader, Panzer Blitz, and of course Axis and Allies. Still play those games when I visit my dad from time to time.
