Bob Seger's music is very nostalgic, especially to us old folk.  He has plenty of good songs to react to.

Possibly my favorite lyrics ever, "Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then."

This song could have been written today. It is timeless and speaks from Bobs heart to ours as so many of his songs do. It eloquently conveys feelings of struggle, loss and determination in ways that we instantly recognize in ourselves. Thank you for sharing your discovery of this music with us.

"Against the Wind" contains what is my all time favorite line from a song, "I Wish I Didn't Know Now What I Didn't Know Then." 😎

And suddenly I'm back in 1980  -  wish I could go back there again.

Bob's a story teller of epic proportions and his stories always go straight to your soul. If you continue down his catalog I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

The song is about the human struggle against anything and everything that may try to hold you back from pursuing what you need or want or what your inner dreams are. He takes us from the young man running Against the Wind to pursue his future and the wind is what may hold him back in All Phases of life. He ends with the old man still running against all of the obstacles that you find in life in anything you may want to do. The wind is the metaphor for life's challenges.

I met him once, my dad went to school  with him. We were shopping at Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor during Christmas and this bearded man recognized my dad.

Bob is one of myfav artists of the 70's.  MANY excellent songs from him.

One of the G.O.A.Ts for sure.  Notice that most of his songs are about memories of his past and the lessons he learned from his experiences.

I was 17 when this song was new. I loved it then, but at 63, it hits a lot harder. Seger has the ability, as all great artists do, to reach our souls.
