I was aboard the Sara that day. I remember Whitney walking around the ship and greeting us in the hanger bay. She also served food on the enlisted chow line for awhile. She gave us more than she will ever know that day. The story is mostly true, but there were no female enlisted sailors on board during that time. Also, she wasn't able to sing for us because she was on voice rest before her next show (we didn't care. We were happy she came to see us). So this is clearly an embellishment. But like I said, mostly accurate. Thanks for the memories.

Such a voice! The power, the range! What a tremendous loss. She used to sing in church when she was younger if what I read was true. The lamb that strayed away. What an incredible talent!

I remember her visit <br>on the ship. It was an<br>HBO special on cable <br>and the concert was<br>great.....she was a<br>magnificent and<br>powerful singer.<br>"RIP" 🥀 Whitney.
