Another excellent, informative video. Thanks Jason. I’d love to see a dedicated tour video of all of the climbing roses in your collection if you get a chance 🙏🏼

I was most impressed that you didn't use gloves. Your hands must be immune to the thorns. lol

One consideration not mentioned is assessing if your climbing rose is too big for the space you have given it. I think Henry's Red is Etoile which is an enormous rose that can cover the front of a house and is probably the wrong rose for that fence.

I am going over from training my climbing roses horizontally as I realise I just don't have enough space for that in my small garden. If I just leave them be, I don't have to prune them to get them to fit and I get loads more basal canes and so a load more blooms that way. The right size rose for the exact space is an important aspect to consider and avoids frustration and wasted years for growing the wrong rose before you have to pull it out.

Thank you for this helpful video! I would love a video on how to train a climber to structure, like a garden arch, since you are taking requests! 😁

Excellent timing. I've noticed a couple of long reaching stems on my climber and was wondering what to do with them. Thanks for the info!

Hi from the north west of England . Thanks so much for the informative video. I'm getting a climbing rose this autumn and i didn't realise that horizontal stems produce more flowers ! yYour step by step process of training the stems is really helpful.

Great video, wonderful to see the break happen too! You get to know your roses individually and their flexibility so you end with a feel for how far you can push a variety. I've also used the Gallica, Tuscany as a 'climber' on an outbuilding with long stems trained horizontally of 12ft - great display, if only for a few weeks. Good to see the clearing at the base too. Thank you Jason.

Good timing! Yesterday did a light prune on once blooming Gloria de La France. Bend the long canes as you did. I will go in and prune out the old blooming canes so there is more air flow. Thanks for the tips!

Perfect timing! I only have one climber and it was planted in May. My goal was to just keep it alive and growing before messing with it too much. I feel more confident about future training. Loved watching your comfort and confidence with your roses. Also, you didn't even flinch when that branch broke off!
