This is pretty cool, never knew someone made Sonic Heroes in Sonic 1&2. Makes me wish this was in Sonic Origins being released by Sega.

This is my first time properly recommending a game, but you might take a look at Sonic 2 Pink edition. You play as Amy, with Cream the Rabbit as the sidekick, and it controls differently, I'd say a bit more difficult even.
