The most perfect opening scene of any movie ever made.

One of the best films ever made. One of the best casts, scripts, cinematography, music, writing, everything.

This classic came out the same year I was born.<br>FUN FACT: The cat was not part of the script. From what I've read, it had wandered onto the set, and Marlon Brando picked it up, held it, and the rest is history.

This is the best establishing scene I've seen. We know so much about the Godfather after this scene.

If Vito gave that cat a fedora a trench coat and an AK, the Cat would have been more useful than Fredo on the day Vito was shot😂

When I first saw it, I initially thought him calling Bonasera an undertaker was a dig at him wanting those boys murdered. Then I found out he was an actual undertaker. Lol

The cat was a stray that Brando befriended, he decided to bring it in ....

“Now she will never be beautiful again” is the sentence that sticks out to me the most.

Brando establishes the gravitas of the Don with a soft voice & simple gestures.

Sadly the thing with the judge taking it easy (no prison time) on guys with rich families is a real thing. A few years ago a college swimmer pled guilty to sexual assault but got no prison time. The judge didn’t want to “ruin his life”

The cat was not in the script. It was a stray hanging around the set for several days. Just before the scene, Coppola grabbed the cat and gave it to Brando. Amazing huh?
