Unmaintained infrastructure will fold eventually but faster under severe rain maker weather conditions. The country is covered with 100 year old dams still standing with hope and prayers.

Lived near Binghamton NY in 2006 when we got flooded out. Was going through radiation therapy for colon cancer. The flood, flooded out where I was getting radiation therapy. After the flood the hospital where I was being treated and the High School my kids were going to put up flood barriers. In 2011 Binghamton had another flood of the Susquehanna River which was worse than the 2006 flood. Flood walls at both locations saved the hospital and High School. Flood wall at the High School and Hospital, just a guess on height is about 15 feet and the flood stopped about 1 foot below the wall.
