  I had two cardboard coffee cups from McDonald’s. I washed them out, put some compost in them, then planted 4 seeds in each of the cups. After 2 weeks my seedlings grew. I left the plastic tops on the cups and left them on my windowsill. I have repotted them and looking forward to having some bell peppers

  Top tip I got from our friends in the US with chilli plants... Once the plants get to about the third leaf pair pinch off the top growth point. The plant will keep growing, but it forces more bushy growth which means more flowers and more chillis! This works especially well with varieties like Jalepenos!

  I always plant my peppers with marigolds and never have a pest problem.

  In his book, &quot;Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades&quot;, Steve Solomon has a great recipe for hot peppers. (BTW, this book is very much applicable to England, as Oregon weather is mostly the same as England.) <br><br>Put peppers through the meat grinder, seeds and all. Then mix the resulting paste with lots of vinegar for a minute or so. Drain the vinegar through the sieve or cheesecloth, and save it for cooking (it&apos;s delicious). Mix the paste with plenty of good olive oil and pack it into clean jars. Top jars with more olive oil and put them into the refrigerator. Lasts until next summer. Doesn&apos;t go bad. I&apos;ve been using this recipe for years. Enjoy!

  I love using liquid seaweed. Something that few people talk about is the fact that it has iodine in it which is antibacterial/antifungle. It goes a long way to helping prevent disease.

  Yes I&apos;m growing bell peppers this year for the first time, I&apos;ve just moved seedlings into 4 inch pots and will plant out when the weather gets a lot warmer. I&apos;ve never picked a perfect pepper but my friend Peter has 🤣 Cheers
