  Thousand-Year Door, Super Paper Mario, and Bowser's Inside Story are all examples of how to make Mario work with good storytelling.

  In a weird way the Mario games were a massive part of teaching me perseverance because of how hard i found them as a 6-10 year old! I always find it remarkable how quickly most kids will give up these days because they cant get that instant gratification.

Franchises ditching core principles &amp; foundational aspects of their being to appeal to a larger audience has been a running theme throughout the past decade. <br><br>The fact that so many games can replace their main character with a gray blender ball (hyperbolic but you get me) &amp; instantly decrease in quality to a lot of people out there genuinely sucks. We&apos;ve been conditioned to believe that things we are familiar with should be associated with high art even when the art that&apos;s being made with those characters haven&apos;t been considered quality in a long time.

  Miamoto is a great person, and an amazing game designer, but you could tell his philosophy of &quot;no story just gameplay&quot; really hit hard on this movie
