Congratulations on your retirement, Mike! Was great to see Jen back too. Good luck and maybe consider doing a reunion with all of you again one day as an answering questions episode!

Living in Toronto, we switched our two cars to Michelin Crossclimate II. They are working very well in summer and snowy winter here.

I've had two flats in three decades of driving. Both were situations where a can of Fix-a-flat would have left me stranded. One was a damaged sidewall and the other was a bent rim. I'm currently in the market for a new car and a lot of them are getting written off because of the lack of a spare. There are so many regulations about vehicles that there needs to be one mandating a spare.

Great question about car systems. I know my wife would never read the manual. (It lived on the coffee table for months.) So after she bought the car, I sat her down to watch some YouTube videos. She still couldn't get car play to connect and had to return to the dealer to make that happen. But the videos worked quite well. Did the same when her Mom bought a new car, sent her a short list of videos to familiarize her with her new vehicle.

Not only did we have to drive in snow, we had to clear snow during severe weather. I put cross climate 2s on both of my vehicles. They're not just good in snow, they're excelent in rain as well. One of my rare good decisions.

Why aren’t we talking about the safety issues of changing a tire on the side of the road?

Learned a long time ago that run-flats are no match for a real spare tire when gashed open by sharp common road debris. So no new cars for me. Ever again

I wish you guys would show that a rear or front wheel drive car with snow tires does MUCH better than any AWD or 4 wheel drive car with all seasons. People think AWD/4WD is enough, but really the tires are MUCH more important than the drive system.

You mentioned Hyundai with the lane assist self driving mode. I agree with the Kia. It’s sister company. I think it works very well. I recently had a Kia K4 and I thought it worked exceptional by keeping in the lanes even on long-turning bends

Subaru has you come back after several weeks of use, to answer any questions. It’s an excellent idea.

I live in northern Wisconsin so I am pretty much in "snow country". I have an outback, but just run my all seasons year round. They plow our roads here pretty good and as long as they are plowed I am good. If I was driving a ton maybe I would put on winter tires. Even with a lot of snow they do a great job plowing here. I have a sweet snow blower for my driveway. I get around totally fine.

Back when I had a Chevy Bolt I quickly changed from the OEM tire to the Nokian WRG4 to gain all season's traction in the Chicago area. Much better wet traction and I didn't notice any range loss which I feel is much more dependent on the driver than tire choice. Then we went with the CrossClimate 2 on our Forester. Tires are the #1 performance upgrade on any vehicle.
