So so pragmatic, simple and brilliant. As a lambda people, a poor one, but as a person like anyone else, I feel so proud to see that she put my soul, experiences, thoughts and feelings in Literature. My "nobody" life gains some respect thanks to Annie Ernaux. Merci Madame. Merci.

I love her build-up/rationalisation of writing as a political act; The Years really encapsulates that seamlessness of the personal and political. Adore her writing, so thrilled that her books are reaching more people :)

That's what has stopped me writing my book for years, because I wanted to make it right, not beautiful. And I am sure many readers would have and will reject it. This interview has appeared to my aid, especially resonating in the language of my spiritual home. Here I go. Thank you!

so beautiful anyway, though a little against beauty, but her beauty it is right <3
I loved her before. just started reading a Simple passion, finished, and swallowed again in same hour. then read all her little jewel-books. especially love talking with a photo of unknown sister. and this manifestation of passion for someone...and for some reason I always, from early years, love to read about abortions, blood, birth, miscarriages. so I was just singing out loud «ohhh, Annie, what a dark sun you are». oh, and «Lillebone» was a such a beautiful name for town...
and then, half of year later, the whole world seemed to have gone out of my head, everyone began to sing in her honor))) even though I don't care about prizes, but...this girl...with these short texts about her life... it's just like champagne.
to this day, someone around me reads an Event, or a Woman. I recommend them a movies too.
thank you for inviting her and there is a rather long interview now with a translation. jet'embrassejet'embrassejet'embrasse, and just je t'aime

Thanks for putting her name first in the video title so we know who the video is about

She is more interesting than Houellebecq, by far. She is courageous, humble. She stayed true to herself. She writes very well. She speaks very well about her writing process. And she stays away from the spotlight.

Great interview, thank you very much. Just a suggestion: if you upload the subtitles in Youtube (instead of rendering it on the video itself), one can disable it or select other languages (Youtube automatically translates it).
