  This is such an important video.. for people in relationships, friendships, for people with kids .. just generally important knowledge to improve your relationships.. Everyone of us struggles to a certain extend with this, but awareness is the first step! I would love to see more videos like this :)

  This is how my marriage was. My husband would come home every day, talk my ear off while walking past me and refuse to sit down and talk to me not at me. As soon as he did sit down, he went straight to his phone. I&apos;d want to tell him about my day, he&apos;d be on his phone and ask to repeat what I just said. But if I did the same to him, he&apos;d get mad. I felt like a door mat. But I allowed myself to be one. He was really good at grand gestures, but bad at the every day stuff. I&apos;d been asking for emotional connection for years and he&apos;d do what I asked for a few days then go back to ignoring me except when he wanted to something. I got tired. Asked for a divorce. He filed. Took him 2 years after the divorce to figure out what I was asking for last time I spoke to him. I&apos;m alot happier now, but I hate that we had to learn our lessons after the divorce 😢.

  I&apos;ve always loved power outages since I was a kid for this reason. It forces everyone to be &quot;bored&quot; and talk to each other instead (as long as the power outage wasn&apos;t caused by a natural disaster of course 😅). I still enjoy them and wanted to try to simulate that by having tech-free weekends in my home once a month but my husband will never agree to it 😢

  As soon as I finished watching this---thanks to you and the research you did---I was able to write an email to my mother using language from the video to gently explain to her why I feel so disconnected when we get together 🧡I had been trying to figure out how to explain it to her for months

  This happened with my mom before phones were a thing it was always a book I never got her full attention. And now I get so triggered because she is always on her phone no matter what I’ve had to do a lot of therapy around it and the ways it’s affected me in other areas of my life!
