Qué pena perder a Anthony.

What Anthony Bourdain did in every country he visited was never just a culinary show. It wasn’t just about food or travel — it was something much deeper. He captured the very essence of a country, its soul, with a level of respect and sensitivity that’s incredibly rare. He approached every culture, every custom, with genuine humility and kindness.

It takes more than intelligence or education to do what he did — it takes a truly compassionate and empathetic person. Watching his shows is a completely different experience from anything else out there.

As an Armenian, I was especially moved by his episode in Armenia. I’ve never seen an English-speaking program portray Armenia with such honesty, clarity, and depth — all in such a short amount of time. He was able to sense and convey things that even we, as Armenians, only come to understand as we grow older. Somehow, he captured those subtle, delicate truths and made them part of the story.

Anthony Bourdain was an extraordinary, talented soul. There is simply no one else like him.

Forgot to mention the African influence we also have in Peru, especially with ingredients in the street meats. I don’t know why they always forget to mention it. It’s super important, to remember that part of our culture even though it was born from something as horrible as slavery. Seems like people want to erase history.
