As you saw, Charlie's singing voice in this pilot is Elsie Lovelock. A few of the characters had different voices since this was a YouTube project and got picked up by Amazon and had more "official casting" so to say.

Many of us fans watched this when it premiered on YouTube back in 2019. It was a big deal and we had to wait almost 5 years for the series to finally come out and at that time the future of it wasn't entirely certain. Viv wanted to make sure she got to make the show she wanted without corporate meddling getting in the way of her vision. For over a year after the pilot none of us knew what studio she'd get to back it and even longer where it would stream. So the pilot, as well as a couple of no longer online webcomics were mostly all us fans had for a while as well as interviews and videocasts with her and the pilot voice actors.

Regarding the "extended versions", the only difference I've noticed so far is that on Spotify, Loser Baby is not interrupted by the bad guys, Huskerdust sing together until the end.

Every character was recast for the series except for Travis (the guy who drops off Angel in the beginning), and the blue dinosaur guy in Zeezi’s club. The pilot was crowd-funded just to produce it, so there was no budget to hire Broadway actors from the get-go (save for three sentences from James Monroe Iglehart); Viv may not have even met many of the series actors in the couple years after the pilot was released and when Amazon and A24 picked it up.

"As lazy as that is" feels like it was a placeholder name that they left too long and it stuck. 😆

The pilot was made a few years before Viv actually got the show greenlit. Most if not all of the voices are different.

And yes the News anchor Katie Killjoy is in the show, but her voice is completely different (being voiced by Blitzo from HoaB's VA).

Also I'm surprised you seem to have never heard "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows." Its a classic vaudeville song from the early 1900s. There's even a version Judy Garland sang.

The Pilot of Hazbin Hotel released in October of 2019, while the proper series started airing on January of 2024. So there was a little more than 4 years of wait for this project to finally take off.

And in all that time.... the only official content of Hazbin Hotel we were given was a Music Video called "Addict", composed by Silva Hound and performed by Michael Kovach (Pilot Angel Dust's VA) and a small Prequel Comic (also centered on Angel Dust).

Thankfully... Vivzie and Spindlehorse studio had already started working on Helluva Boss.... which remained as a Youtube-exclusive Show during all that waiting time for HH, releasing new episodes every couple of months (im speaking in past tense because Helluva Boss was also pickup by Amazon not too long ago and therefore... from Season 3 onwards it will be releasing it's episodes on Amazon Prime first and then a month later on Youtube, which kinda sucks for Youtube viewers but at least now the two shows can actually crossover).

Also.... don't know if you noticed, but you can actually spot prototype versions of the main cast of Helluva Boss in this Pilot. You can see Proto-Blitzø at 17:33 (staring at Charlie's Butt.... who would've guessed xddd), you can spot Proto-Loona at 22:28, and at 24:29 you can see the silhouette of Moxxie among the "Boo Section" crowd xddd. The only one who's not here is Millie.

Regarding your shoutout to the orginal VAs, you should react to Black Gryph0n's Thank You And Goodnight song, which was the OGs handing off the reins to the new VAs.
