I think the "thingy" might be called a roll stop. 😊 I would buy the full size Botanical before buying the Niblet.

Schon Dsgn pocket pens use Jowo #6 nibs. And this Esterbrook Niblet is the same pen Fine Writing International sells for $50. And Esterbrook pens are made by FWI.

I really like almost everything about this pen. I wish it had a clip and the pen is so light due to the thin resin, but otherwise a beautiful pen and writer

I’d agree with your conclusions: no clip (or provision for one) is a major downer. As is the price, which isn’t too far off from a regular Estie. <br>I’m a construction site man and I use a lot of fountain pens for my notes, instructions etc. It isn’t safe wandering around a site with a pen pouch holding a pen that hasn’t been provided with a clip; nope- I’ll give it a hard pass. <br>Great video🎉

You can take the converter out to avoid dunking the whole nib. Or even use a syringe. That’s the neatest way in my experience. That’s one advantage of converter pens over piston and vac fillers.

I hated white rabbit for how dry it was. It hurt my feelings because it was soooo pretty and unusual. I ended up mixing it with bottlers ottoman rose and dark matter to make it write better and appear on paper easier. But even at that, it’s still one of my driest and therefore least favorite inks. Writing with a fountain pen shouldn’t be like writing with chalk. It makes me shudder. <br><br>Those who can endure the dryness get to experience far prettier colors imo. I salute 🫡 your bravery and tolerance for white rabbit. You’re stronger than I!
