  Proof of how much this community is growing!  Last year, I registered but was never contacted by the Hubmaster (or told who the Hubmaster was.) So, I missed the event. I do not have a Pen Club near me, and the nearest location was 2.5 hours away, but I was willing to make the drive because my Dad lives there, so it was an excuse to visit. This year, I registered on the first day and received confirmation and an email identifying the Hubmaster, who also followed up with a welcoming email. I think this event has grown too large for Pelikan to manage, and, I agree, the free ink bottles are really not that important (they could just provide Hubmasters with 5-10 bottles and have them as door prizes.) I would love to see spin-off events created to establish Pen Clubs and, better yet, the flexibility to schedule those events on a Saturday or Sunday when the event co-ordinator can secure event space at low or no cost (community centers, senior centers, libraries, etc.) Yes, Pelikan did not handle it well, but I hope this inspires people to just start local Pen Meet Ups. Hope your event is lots of fun for everyone! Thank you for being a Hubmaster!

  Thank you for giving us all these details.Our hubmaster was accepted without too many issues apparently, but the organisational mess of it all seems quite a shame for such a supposedly prestigious brand like Pelikan. This is very unprofessional.

  I&apos;m probably the outsider here, this will be my first Hub and the ink does mean something to me. &nbsp;I don&apos;t own a Pelikan but I&apos;m truly fascinated by them and hope this will be an opportunity to try other pens and nibs and that will give me an idea when I can finally afford to add one to my collection which one fits my writing style. In the past seeing others swag after the event is exciting to me. It seems as if people weren&apos;t thrilled with the ink last year, but I also didn&apos;t see people offering to give the bottles away. &nbsp; &nbsp;Maybe limiting the number of people that can attend is necessary due to how fast this community is growing. &nbsp;Telling people to come on anyway can be unsafe. What if the venue can&apos;t accommodate the number of people that show up safely?<br><br>I appreciate that you took time create this video. You worded this perfectly and I&apos;m impressed how you were able to get the ink swatches down while explaining it all so clearly. <br><br>My City is Atlanta and my hubmaster has reached out three times and also has a &quot;come on anyway&quot; philosophy but she&apos;s also made it very clear that there are only 60 gift bags, so hopefully I&apos;ll get one. <br><br>I&apos;m going to have a great time, because like you said, the community is the party and I&apos;ve never had a bad time hanging out with my pen friends. &nbsp;<br><br>I didn&apos;t consider them not doing them again in the future, now if that happens, I definitely want the ink 🖋

  Wow, it sounds to me like the folks at Pelikan need some very basic public relations training. <br>🫣 plus, anyone who knows fountain pen people would know that the free ink etc is not the main &quot;thing&quot;. &nbsp;When there&apos;s only one bottle that pretty much equals 25 - 2 ml samples happily shared! 😇👍

  So good to hear your voice! And good to see your hand free from bracing! I’ll be going to my first Pelikan Hub in a couple of weeks… but I have no idea where it is… I have only received the name of the Hubmaster and nothing else!! I don’t even have a number or email… no address in Spokane Valley, WA. I appreciate you for taking time to clarify what is going on - if I don’t hear anymore and don’t get to go to the Hub, I will remember that you, as a Hubmaster, tried to do the right thing and maybe that is what is going on in WA state, too.

  I registered the first day so I thought I was in. I was very disappointed when I received my rejection letter. &nbsp;I was excited to meet new people who love this hobby as much as I do.

  Hi Wendi Sue! &nbsp;Good to hear your voice. &nbsp;I watched Hemingway Jones Live last night and he showed a text where Pelikan is offering 5 Euros off on their bottled ink. &nbsp;This too feels like too little too late. &nbsp;Like you, our Hub Master reached out and invited everyone noting that there just wouldn’t be a swag bag available to all. &nbsp;What a horrible thing to have this dropped at the feet of the Hub Masters. &nbsp;It is all both unkind and unprofessional! &nbsp;Thanks so much for providing clarity. &nbsp;I agree that clear communication is kindness and you have provided that!
