I refuse to carry oxygen when climbing, but then I also refuse to go anywhere that requires you to bring your own air. Kilimanjaro is high enough for me.

An oxygen bottle plus regulator and mask and hose runs about 9 to 13 pounds which is good insurance. Sherpa can even have a spare bottle in case of the now common jams on the summit route.

No client had one Single guide, she also pushed head. She was responsible for her own life and gave it away to someone else because she didn’t want to carry the bottle. She made some very bad decisions that resulted in her losing her life.
