I lived next to a place called Alice Holt, an enormous forest of old oaks. The wood from there was felled and moved to the coast. Once upon a time Alice Holt had a rail system for moving soldiers from urban centres to the training grounds at Aldershot. Oak was moved to the coast and into the shipyards, an enormous task. If you can, look up Alice HOLT and revel in the history.
