Tony could take the stones from Thanos because Thanos is wearing an Iron Man gauntlet, not the Infinity Gauntlet. The tech belongs to Tony.

I am surprised how many people missed that ironman talked about how he never sleeps because of ptsd and worry, so in the end, pepper told him he could finally rest.

I think we can all agree on how much of an impact Tony Stark's death had affected the world. Ironically I used the same words Pepper said to Tony when my mom died I told her that I was going to be alright you can rest now and she died. But I enjoyed watching all these movies with her one of my best times and memories

And in the ultimate callback to what Yinsen instructed Tony in that cave, he didn't waste it.

We all loved Iron Man and we all cried for him. The best human superhero ever.

Tony was able to get all the stones from one glove to another with nano technology. All the stones literally transferred from on to another.

The man who started out showing love for no one, sacrificed himself, and showed his love for the entire galaxy.

They could not rewind time with the time stone because that was their only chance in 14 million to defeat Thanos and going back to change it would mean they would mess things up and lose.

That Marvel was able to create fully fleshed out characters , so much so that we actually cared about their deaths, is what transformed them beyond just superheroes.
