I grew up in this very neighborhood ! We were dirt poor and didn't know it, we ate well , felt safe and had good friends ❤️. I couldn't afford to eat their until I found a job when I was 12. Love this neighborhood.

Uploaded only 2 months ago!!! Thank you for uploading this!!! I miss the Manganaro family SO much, REST IN PEACE TO SAL and so so so so so so much love to the whole family. In 2009, in the waning days of the store, when I first moved out on my own and was living in Hells Kitchen, Manganaros was my RESPITE of NORMALCY in an insane city. REAL red sauce, beautiful food, and the best pasta to come out of a tupperware container - ever. I hope the whole Dell'Orto family is healthy, blessed and living well. I miss you all

Never really cared about how they eat in Italy if I want spaghetti with meatballs I'll have spaghetti and meatballs

Manganaros closed in 2021.<br>Bourdain died in 2018.<br>Ozersky died in 2015.<br>Sal died in 2013.<br><br>The area and NYC are now unrecognizable. At least Keens and the mutton chop remain to keep the past alive.

Lived in Hell’s kitchen in the 80s. It was rundown had so much character. I just loved it. I think I paid 350 for studio.
