What was the first song of his that made you stop what you were doing and just LISTEN? Mine was Still Got the Blues — heard it on the radio at 16 and never recovered. 💔

Drop yours below 👇 — ALSO WATCH NEXT: https://youtu.be/yBhNC9xhVP8 (Ronnie Van Zannt)
https://youtu.be/f3LJk0QBQ8s (Duane Allman)

When Corridors Of Power was released in 82’ he was signing copies at Penny Lane Records in Liverpool’s city centre (they had one in Penny Lane too) and I got mine signed. I said “thanks Gary!” And he replied: “D’you know, you’re the first one to thank me today! Thanks mate!” I’ve never forgotten that moment.

I, as a musician myself, love many musicians on all instruments but Gary Moore was different. He put his entire soul into every performance & held nothing back. Few ever risk bearing their soul so completely. Freddie Mercury, Meat Loaf, there are so few. They are the ones who will genuinely live forever. Even if they fade as fashions change, they will always return because they speak to the soul like nobody else can.

I spent years in Northern Ireland during the Troubles. I was a British soldier. I used to play Gary Moore for hours on my Walkman. (Showing my age) Still play his music today. He was a legend, and I miss him. RIP Gary.

All these years later and he is still one of my favorite artists. Way under rated and a true guitar maestro.

Gary was phenomenal. Never heard a better player. We all have to leave this Earth at some point. Hope we all go to a better place.

If there are any doubters about Gary’s abilities, go and watch The Messiah will come on YouTube, Gary Moore was simply incredible, I was lucky enough to see him live more than once , and if I’d have seen him 100 times, it would never have been enough. R.I.P to the master .
