Paris tip- have lunch rather than dinner at the highest rated restaurants. Instead of spending 1000 euro and being on a long waitlist you can have the same chef for 300 euro and might not need a reservation.

These are very good tips. I’m in my 70’s and did all my traveling in Europe when I was in my 20’s. In those days, it was a joy and pleasure to see all these wonderful and historic sites without all the present day stress, rules, regulations, and pre-booking hassles. When I wanted to visit the Vatican museums, I showed up at 9 AM, waited 10 minutes, paid the entrance fee, entered and had no problems. Things have certainly changed, and again, I’m glad I did it when I was in my 20s, and have no desire to go back and encounter all this hassle. Things like this take the pleasure out of traveling.!

Great video, and I really enjoy your channel. I just wanted to point out one small thing that might confuse some viewers. The way EES is explained makes it sound like it’s something travelers need to apply for before going to Europe. As I understand it, that’s not the case. The Entry/Exit System (EES) is simply the system used by border authorities to register your entry and exit at the border. Travelers don’t apply for EES—it’s something that’s done when you enter or leave the participating countries. I just thought I’d mention it since it could help avoid any confusion. Thanks again for all the great content!

Here's a travel tip: don't keep a trip journal or take a million photos that you will never look at again. Instead at every stop buy a postcard with the best photo of whatever it is you're seeing that day. Then at dinner, or while waiting for a bus or train, write down what you experienced, the people you met and spoke to, what the weather/day was like, the special dish you tried at the little out-of-the-way restaurant that was amazing, etc. Then send the postcard to yourself. When you get home you will have a flood of memories to relive, and to save and read again and again. I recently came across a box of my postcards from 30 years ago. It was wonderful.

The best way to avoid the grief is to travel in the spring or fall, less crowded and air fares are lower.

Traveling all over Europe in just a few weeks seems crazy to me. Just pick one or two countries and chill, instead of racing to see all of Europe's sights.

Convinced my bf to spend 3 or more days in major cities in the country we’re visiting and he actually said he enjoyed our trip so much better. One or 2 days at a place is a frantic pace. We actually spent the day of arrival after traveling walking the city and picking a restaurant.

I can still remember when you could just walk up to an attraction and get a ticket and enter on the day , it wasn’t actually that long ago either, travel is pretty hideous now especially to the usual so called hot spots like Italy , savage amusement .

Good tips, though I knew several already. One that I didn't know was the currency conversion function of the calculator app on my phone. As I've been planning for our trip this summer, I've been checking prices with a Google search, but the calculator is much easier to use. Thanks.
