  I love the theory that the Penitent One is only "blasphemous" because he serves the true god originally worshipped by man who became the Twisted One. A god far above the Miracle.

  I like how blasphemous can either be a critique of religion itself, <i>or</i> a critique of how someone (or something in this case) can twist divine power into something that serves itself alone. In the end, it paints an extremely fascinating view into the paranoid, penitent religious times of the dark ages. It legitimately feels like playing a baroque painting, in both it&apos;s artistry and story, and its excecution of how it portrays that story as a beautiful yet haunting presence. Blasphemous I and II are two of my favourite games of all time.

  When the twisted one appears after the high wills are slayed, he puts his hand on the Penitents cheek, not shoulder. It is an embrace of love and gratitude.

  Easily one of the sickest games out there…lore-wise, gameplay-wise, worldbuilding-wise, soundtrack-wise. Just amazing.

  For anyone who hasn&apos;t played, or is planning to play again, I highly suggest playing with voices in Spanish, the dub is the best you can get in Spain, and it really adds to the Semana Santa theme, so do yourself a favor, same goes for both games.
