Tim and Owain are currently doing a mentalist rewatch podcast together so I doubt there was any bad blood between them

There was a sexual tension betwween Lisbon and Jane from the start. So in no way was a romance forced. It's quite fitting that they ended up together.

Psych actually references the mentalist and Shawn (main character) essentially berates someone for not liking the show basically stating it is a “great show with a great premise”

There was so much of Simon Baker in the Patrick Jane character... this contributed so much to the success of 'The Mentalist' in my opinion. Bruno Heller was so wise to give Simon freedom to collaborate and add to the making of this brilliant TV series. Thank you for this excellent overview.

Honestly, Jane ending up with Terasa might not be original and probably overused in TV series, BUT I believe it was the best ending for both characters, it was a good mini plot, i find it hard to find another way their character end up and be better for the plot

I just watch the Mentalist because it's interesting. All shows like this have there roots in Sherlock Holmes who noticed details others miss in order to solve a case. Patrick James is the Sherlock Holmes character in the show. Teresa Lisbon is Dr. Watson. His carny connections are the Baker Street Irregulars.

The Mentalist not being able to read the Goalie will always be hilarious 😂

14:16 There was a scene in Psych where Gus was talking to a potential client about how Shaun was like the TV character, "the Mentalist", but "the Mentalist was a fake psychic, but Shaun was real." 😂

Did you know that Warner actually considered RDJ as the Mentalist, but since he decided to take on the role as Iron Man, he wasn't available. Owain Yeoman and Tim Kang stated that in their new podcast "TV Police"
