  Sorry for your loss. My younger brother was killed by a reckless driver when he was 44. As his older brother it has taken years for me to come to terms with this loss. He was a lovely person. It’s been 13 years and the pain has gone but I still miss him dearly.

  My husband of 48 years passed 2 weeks after we returned home from a trip to South Korea. The shock and grief was overwhelming. I finally decided to travel alone for a while to reset my life. I spent a month in Japan on a very rural island and another month in Taiwan. I was in Japan for our wedding anniversary. Getting away from my normal routine was the right thing to do. I went on long walks and just existed for a while. While in Japan I found myself unable to go on tours, but by the time I was in Taiwan I began to venture out. Through this journey I made friends with some wonderful young people. This May I returned to Japan for 3 weeks and went with a Japanese family to Expo 25, as well as spent time on the island again. I will be going next year to Taiwan to visit with the young people who took me under their wings. Grief is not well understood by many people, and you are expected to get over it quickly. The truth is that grief is personal and the loss of a loved one is life changing. Traveling through foreign airports alone forced me out of my comfort zone and back into the world. Not having a set schedule allowed me to step back into society at my own pace. Going on a spiritual journey allows the mind to settle.

  So sorry for your loss - the pilgrimage was beautiful and the stamp books a great way to honour and remember your sister. The calligraphy on the stamps were amazing - I loved seeing the writing of the characters. The scenery you travelled through to reach the temples was stunning. I am glad you found peace during your trip .❤

  My deep condolences, Chani. My sister died in her sleep 20 years ago, at the age of 58. &nbsp;It was the biggest shock of my life. I still miss her. She has maintained a deep spiritual presence in my life and the lives of all her loved ones. &nbsp;I am so grateful to her for that. &nbsp;Thank you for sharing your loss and spiritual journey.

  Chani, I dont know if you will beleive this but I felt like your sister took that temple trip with you in spirit. It was as much for her as it was for you. I felt her presence around you. So be at peace. All is as it should be.

  Millie is like all of us. She loves the excitement of a good outing, but adores coming home to the peace and familiarity. She is precious , and will also help you through your sadness.

  I&apos;m so sorry for your loss. It&apos;s a blessing that she passed quickly and peacefully. I&apos;ve witnessed many long and painful deaths. I pray that God has mercy on me and grants me a quick, gentle passing when my time comes.

  I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my sister in 2018 to cancer. I grieve her loss every day and my heart is broken forever. Does it get easier ??? Too soon for me to answer that in my opinion. I miss her every second of the day….❤ My mom (a Japanese woman) never said her name ever again when talking about her …and my Mom passed in 2024. I asked her why she wouldn’t say her name and she said it pains her heart to say it… and she never said her name ever again….<br>Lesson learned :<br>You don’t know what a stranger is going through or the journey they’re on… BE KIND!!!❤❤❤
