When the Michigan conference leadership is rotten to the core, I can totally understand why their church members are redirecting the tithes to other conferences or ministries.
And... I should stop here.

Thanks for (finally) defending Job's wife. She had lost all of her children and her husband was deathly ill. I don't see her response as significantly different from that of Naomi when she returned to Bethlehem, when she said to her old friends and neighbours, "Don't call me Naomi. Call me Mara, because the Almighty has made my life bitter." We tend to forget that line, but Naomi is figuratively, if not literally, shaking her fist at God. Both Job's wife's and Naomi's stories give me hope and courage because I know that God is big enough to carry my anger, bitterness and grief, and give me healing and restoration.

It seems that salacious lies and conspiracy theories have become so prominent in your minds, that when a REAL problem is pointed out, you don't even respond. You dismiss it out of hand, and a legitimate complaint cannot even be heard.

From reading the comments, I didn't bother watching the video but I hope our leaders pay close attention to the pleas of the people and prayerfully consider the raised concerns. God keep us all.

Unfortunately there has been a deliberate attempt to misrepresent certain actions. Choosing to pay tithe to a faithful conference within the main church structure isn’t withholding tithe. It still goes to the main storehouse it just bypasses unfaithful hands.
For example, people paid taxes to tax collectors like Levi (who became Matthew). I found out that Levi was charging me extra and keeping it for himself so I decide to pay it to a Christian tax collector who only took the amount stated by the government. The money still goes to the government but doesn’t pass through grubby hands.
If conferences are suffering financially maybe they should humbly listen to the people they’re supposed to represent and then humbly reflect on the complaints of the people to see if they’re in error instead of hurling insults and accusations at the victims of their actions like Jay Gallimore did last Sabbath.

I feel Job’s wife response was a raw reaction. After all, God blessed Job double than before.

I think I agree with Shawn on Job's wife. We are often too hard on her - she lost all her kids as well and the emotional strain on her was probably greater

I agree on the tithe issue however we do need to hold the leaders accountable. There is a right loving way to get the point across.

I've long said about Job's wife that we need not be too hard on her—she had lost her 10 children (and riches) in a day. I am in a good place, but what about the MANY times I had been unfaithful to God?? God is SO merciful!!!

As a graphic designer I also appreciate the visuals. Praise God that we can use the visual and creative talents He gave us for His Glory. And thanks for your message on tithing. How wonderful that He’s the owner of it all and only asks us for 10 percent. May He bless the remaining 90 percent for His Glory. Amen.

Preaching the gospel is important. Glad that I know where I can help with my tithe, so being generous to my local church is so important. Now I decide what mission I want to help.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church’s organizational structure increasingly resembles a business model, which is causing growing frustration in Africa. Local tithes and offerings are funneled to America for decision-making on how funds should be used here, leaving our communities suffering while we wait for missions to return the resources. People are waking up to this inefficiency many now prefer directing funds straight to local missions.

It’s even more disheartening that African Adventists are often excluded after contributing their tithe from institutions created by the system for mission eg in education. Adventist schools are prohibitively expensive for most families, and Adventist universities remain a distant dream. Africa has evolved far beyond the 1800s context in which these systems were designed. We urgently need restructuring to create contextually relevant models that empower our reality.
