The first time things changed was when Cohen bought The Mets, then he went crazy and threw money at Verlander and Scherzer trying to quick-fix, which blew up in his face. The second time things changed was when David Sterns was hired. He knows how to spend the kind of money Steve Cohen provides in smarter ways. Now this particular signing of Soto was all Steve Cohen, I'm sure Sterns wasn't all-in on spending this much, but was fine with taking a back seat, letting Cohen go and get his player. Now David Sterns will take over from here and I trust him to build a world series capable roster from here on out.

Evan was hysterically over the moon when the Mets got Scherzer. And Verlander. And Showalter. He was ecstatic when the Jets got Rodgers. I hope it works out for him this time.
