That guy you bought that off was very humble would you consider sending him a little bit of merch just because he was so honest and nice plus he gave you that stand… anyway not my business but I felt for him a bit selling his broken bike poor guy. Anyway glad the channel is up and running again love the content

The dad comment hit me hard man. As a new first time father on top of my dad when I was the age of 12 handing me a socket set and a junk 1990 CR125 and said happy birthday buddy tear it down and I’ll teach you how to rebuild it.

Fast forward almost 20 years later now he’s still my emergency contact when I get in over my head on automotive and mx/ATV projects.

Couldn’t be more appreciative as to what he has taught me.

Do no re use those titanium valves. You wire wheeled them and I notice the white sparks. That means the hard coating on the valve is worn off. The valves will fall out of valve clearance quick when going back together because titanium valves rely on the hard coating on them to not wear fast.

Personally I love that you’re going back to your roots and doing more repair/flip videos. I love watching them because I get to learn and there’s always the mystery factor when repairing a bike that has unknown problems.

My uncle passed away and I was helping my aunt go thru the storage shed. My uncle never threw anything away, regardless how jacked up it was or what it looked like. I dug into a tarp covered heap and found my 1979 YZ 125 dirt bike! It wasn't running good and I had just got a YZ 250 so I just kind of forgot it. I also remember him telling me that he was going to use it for parts. I am currently going thru it and plan a total rebuild. Aside from the mouse nest and critters, it's in almost perfect condition. When I get it restored I will post videos and pics. So stoked!

11:16
Im just gonna pause the video here, and write this before moving on.
You can see by the lobes that the machine is off timing. (Probably a timing gear that spun on the axle.)
Lobes when rotated and reaching top dead center, needs to be pointing away from each other. Not going the same direction.
This would mean it would open both exhaust and intake valves at the same time :P
