The “Race” quality Hi-flow uses the same media as the K&N and has the welded on nut as well. Also remember that all the OEM manufacturers have to ensure the filters they supply are able to protect the engine during the warranty period! They are going to make sure there will be no problems.

Every engine operates on a different oil pressure aftermarket filters have a different oil pressure. If you replace OEM filter with aftermarket you need to make sure the oil pressure the engine needs is the same with the OEM if it’s not engine failure.

Damn, weird that propably nobody tried to cut & check oil filters. I feel bad as KN user on previous bike.<br>Now I own Triumph and they also have branded oil filter and would really like to know what's inside it, cus it's twice more expensive as HF204.

If you want a good japan oil filter there is the MEIWA/MIW - (air filters are awesome too) . personnaly I use hiflo filtro or meiwa or champion . and I suppose champion filters and hiflofiltro filters are quite the same .

I've heard the HiFlo and HiFlo RC filters are different micron ratings. Would like to also see a comparison including HiFlo RC and Cycle Gear's Motololis brand filters
