My mother would bake 12 loaves at a time. She never complained about kneading the bread even though she had injured her left hand to the point a couple of her fingers wouldn't straighten.<br>I enjoy kneading bread when I do decide to make it. It's therapy. I believe the energy from my hands goes into the bread, adding to the bread's nourishment. Grocery stores are a convenience, not an end.
