I bought a Honda NC750X DCT in 2014 and have ridden it until today, covering 216,000 km (134,000 miles). It has been an excellent motorcycle, and the only thing I wished for was a bit more power for fun, especially during acceleration. I went to test the Honda NT1100 DCT ES, and despite being heavier, I really liked it. So, I decided to order one, and it will be ready for pickup in a few days. I hope and believe it will last at least as long as the NC750X DCT. I use my motorcycle for all my commuting, both alone and with my wife as a passenger. We live in Thailand, and our riding includes highway, city roads, and even mountain routes.

Stick a shaft drive in it and I think it’d attract a solo touring band of riders.

I have 2023 rebel and the DCT is a game changer. I'm not sure I'd go with anything else ever again.

Did Picos and Pyranees coast to coast last year on manual (23 model) with quick shifter and loved it. Most comfortable bike I've ever toured on. You're right, it's never going to be the quickest, but 0 to 60 in 3.5 and 120/130 top speed is decent for a bike built specifically for touring. It does the job really well. Probably why it was the best selling bike in 2023 and still a top seller now across Europe. Beats my last Triumph 1050 hands down for comfort and just as important reliability. Chuffed I bought it.

I’ve had mine (DCT ES in blue + voyager pack = top box, comfort seats and pegs + fog lights) for a couple of weeks and love it. The windscreen is not as effective as the older model and I’ve had to put an £11 deflector from eBay on to stop the noisy buffeting. Mid position is best for me at 6’0". DCT is a game-changer - even on twisties. My riding is smoother as I’m thinking more about my lines through the bends than what gear to be in. And for longer, straighter roads it’s effortless and relaxing meaning I’m more alert for hazards. My only gripe is that the paintwork is sealed with what I can only describe as a light, sugar glaze and it scratches way too easily for a bike costing £15k kitted out. I filled up for the first time last weekend and as the key stays in the lock the plastic dealer fob has already scratched the tank 😖 - just not good enough. The luggage is excellent although the inner bags (provided) are a bit smaller than the panniers and top box. I would have rather had them maximize the space available. Overall though I’m very pleased with it.

Anyone who has actually owned an NT will have no problem with how “complicated” the switchgear is.
Only reviewers struggle because they have to get used to them quickly.
Anyone complaining that the heated grips are complicated will forget as soon as they realise how well they work compared to some other bikes (kawasaki/suzuki)

People forget that this bike has more technology than some cars… it was always going to have lots of buttons.

Plus there really is no excuse. Having applecarplay/androidauto just puts it ahead by default over other budget touring options.

Got a 24 manual NT, stepped off a Goldwing, and a HD CVO road glide ultra. This bike is perfect for all riding work. Even on our NZ back roads and gravel/dirt roads its rock solid in its handling, comfort and durability. The tech is great, everything on hand at the push of a button. Bad weather riding the bike provides awesome protection, the heated grips actually work well (not like some others I've had... HD). Honda has done a great job providing a qulity bike at a decent price.

Apple car play on the Honda (mine is the Africa 1100) is fantastic- don’t understand why people complain or struggle with it - simply tell Siri what you want. Press the one function toggle and say “Apple Maps” or “play Music” or “play audio book” etc, no buttons required & focus on riding.
