What Did GT Do For Dragon Ball?

What GT gave us was a return to the feeling of adventure that the older arcs of Dragonball had.
My biggest gripe with it is that after the start, it just turned into more of the same vibe that the King Piccolo through Buu arcs had.
I love the whimsey that old dragonball had, and I love the intense action of later Dragonball, but we had so much screaming powering up style DB compared to the adventure style. GT even if briefly let us have that adventure back, just finding the dragon balls again, but it was darker in a lot of ways too. It had the maturity of a post Krillin death Dragonball, with the whimsey of the early arcs.

I like all of GT, but I TREASURE the first arc.
