  Back in middle school, due to fears of teenage pregnancy, we were taught a lot of stuff to scare everyone away from the horizontal tango. STDs, social stigma, nothing worked... Until they decided to teach us how much would cost the bare minimum, like a package of diapers, baby formula and etc.

  Its not just the money. Society treats families disgustingly. A child is not allowed to make sound or mess or being a child. Parents are treated like they dont raise their child properly because they cant control a developping brain...its wild out here.

  I am an egineer and so is my husband... I am currently pregnant with our second kid and I got layed off. Not because of performance or anything, but at the company I have worked for layed off thousands of people and of course they do not want a pregnant one... Also before I got layed off, we could not even buy a house or vacations because if you are an engineer, you need to move to a big city and it is very expensive. I feel like society does not support us enough and even one kid is sooo expensive. You can not 'save your way' out of bills in order to save up to a house anymore.... At this point you start questioning if you can give your kids a life they deserve. BUT why should an engineer couple (both with master's degrees) struggle so much? We have been promised that if you study hard, work hard, you can get basic stuff like house, car... but it is a big fat lie...

  I will never have kids. I don’t want to raise someone into this hellscape of a world, nor do I want to be financially crippled

  Some people with specific mental illnesses and personality disorders are also scared of passing it down to their children or abusing them into becoming monsters that make the news
