  The FBI wouldn’t have been interested in letting him work his way into a role with more access. They had enough to arrest him so they have him a choice - turn double agent or go to jail. <br><br>He chose jail knowing the Chinese government would eventually find a way to get him back. He can never work undercover again but he’ll probably have a long a successful career behind a desk in Chinese intelligence.

  I would have used him to recruit other potential foreign agents. &nbsp;He said he thought there were some prospects in his unit. &nbsp;He might have helped get rid of other potential spies.

  Normally we let the trail drag till we get a network but you must also understand some network are intentionally built to derail counterintelligence operations.<br><br>We learnt all these forms trying to uncover CIA, European agencies and Chinese operations in my country. <br><br>Something common with all these agencies is to burnout any form of counter operations or measures we put in place. Which is very very smart
