The odds of creating intelligent beings to survive in the right conditions must be billions to one, hence our Galaxy having only one planet with the right conditions and intelligent human beings. Therefore, every other galaxy will possess one planet with intelligent ? beings.

Why would Greene presuppose that I was designed for one species on one planet? OrWhat would “ Trillions” mean to an infinite intelligent being? . But if determinism is true, as Greene presupposes, then what payoff value is there in an agent that can observe and recognize, but can’t freely make free will choices to change based on what he observes and recognizes? <br><br>If determinism is true, you didn’t choose to believe it, it was bestowed upon by prior physical causation, but if true, what benefit is there in knowing something is true if it was determined downstream from you being aware of its assumed truth? <br><br>Greene wants to talk philosophical, but has no answer what gives his opinions normative authority. The- why ought we believe that his determined opinions are somehow aligned with some presupposed objective standard of “ Truth”
