Guys surely you are very brave to tour Nigeria. I will never go to Nigeria in my lifetime. I salute you as south African. Safe traveling.

Haven't you watched the videos by Noraly Schumacher on her Itchy Boots channel, motorcycling alone through Naija? Famously she was stopped by Police who demanded money. She published the video and the two constables were recognised and very publicly sacked from the Police, a particularly humiliating event in Nigeria.

Your best option is to pay for a room, which automatically come with free parking, don’t ask for parking and room separately, they will just charge you twice

I love the diplomatic and overriding intervention by that superior officer over his deputy on your behalf.

Martha, you could have asked the hotel staff for a bathroom where you could have had a proper shower instead of sitting on the toilet seat to wash off.

37:45 Those two are definitely not official officers. The second dude might have just saved your LIVES. They could be rebels.

For future reference, with Viofo dashcams you can go into the app, connect it to the camera, and manually lock the clip and it will save into the RO (saved clips) folder. Obviously you'll need to do this before the file is overwritten, but Martha could do that while you are driving.
Stay safe guys.

Something similar happened to us in India; two trucks coming at us out of the curve, the one overtaking missing us last second.

I swear having cameras running has probably saved you from being forced to pay bribes etc on at least a few occasions!
