I recently started bowling, and your videos are really helping me out.
I'm trying to put what I've learned into practice.
The videos are great.

I also like to see this channel do a video on how to average 240-250 from 200.

On each stage of average range, you find something and learn to advance from there. It is a step-by-step process.

I love towards the end of this video, "trying stuff" .. I LOVE doing that. Not just goofing around, but purposefully trying things. When I practice, I usually have about a dozen balls with me. I throw ALL of them, even under conditions where certain balls just don't work, but I try to MAKE them work. I try to understand what the balls do and how THEY work. I will roll my ball from way left on approach to way right on approach, and everything in between. I play that arrows game sometimes as well, with a variety of balls, again, to understand how it all works (or why it doesn't). I love playing those sorts of games, it's fun, more fun than just lining up with the same old ball on the same old marks and trying to make strikes.

Brad, I don’t know how much this video helped me. Mostly what it did was tell me at 77 and 30+ years since I bowled in any kind of league (with probably a black bowling ball…and only 1 in the bag), that I have no business trying to pick the game up again. Today, there is an overwhelming amount of information to process just with bowling balls. As I’m trying to consider all that information I’ve argued that there should be no reason that I cannot use one bowling ball for strikes and spares. You said that, too! Heck, in this day and age I can barely afford just one bowling ball, anyway.

I always believed that shooting spares was the most important part of the game, so we agree! A big thing for practice was to “shadow” bowl with no pins. I did it for hours. Our bowling center never heard of it.

And, I used to be able to take a 17-step approach (whatever) with no foot speed or strong backswing and still strike. Today, blah.

I’ll continue watching your excellent videos, but I’m not sure how much of this game I have left in me.

awesome video, im a bowler, just back to my game after 10 years being away from it. coming back with a 4 step approach, was a 5 step before my break.your content is awesome, im one of those bowlersd thjst has that deep thought, everything has to be perfect, which learning to let go of, and hearing you, makjes it easier to hold on to that concept.
my issue now seems to be where do i set my elbow, in conjunctioj to my back/,..when setting up/
now that i understand my pushout, should be a push away, makes timing a whole lot better, but still have to practice this as well to get better flow coming to the line a releasing.
really enjoying your video cintent, it helps.

What helped me go from mid 160s to mid 190s was that i stopped trying to aim the ball perfect and perfectly hit my mark and started throwing the ball as hard as I could. Same ball, same style, same ally, just throwing it harder. Make the pins fly and hit as many other pins as possible.

Something I like doing on league nights is try a different ball each week.
1 it'll teach you how each ball behaves and reacts throughout the night.
2 it'll not make you be content on standing in the same spot and rolling the same shot every week.
Also goes without saying work on your spare game
