  When I hear music like this, I think, &quot;Where do I know this from? I don&apos;t normally listen to this kind of music&quot;. And then I recall that, when this was NEW, my dad played it for me all the time. We were lucky to have the NET (National Educational Network) and later, PBS TV networks. They aired tons of hard bop and cool jazz - live performances. And we watched it all. Dad, a jazz (and country!) radio disc jockey, provided a running commentary about the players and the music. - Boy, do I miss him. He raised me right (as did Mom, who taught me guitar). I compose a lot of songs, and some of them are vocal/guitar jazz. I gave 70 shows in 2025, at the age of 75. Things have slowed down here in Seattle, but I have 8 gigs on my calendar now.<br><br>I saw Charlie Parker&apos;s drummer and his ensemble in Seattle in 2003. - Astounding.<br><br>Thank you for this!
